Oppo has officially launched the new Reno 16T smartphone in China, adding another model to its Reno 16 lineup. The new device focuses on camera performance, battery capacity and a compact design while targeting the mid-range smartphone market.
One of the biggest highlights of the Oppo Reno 16T is its 200-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). The camera setup is joined by a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP telephoto camera with OIS. For selfies and video calls, the phone features a 50MP front camera with autofocus.
The smartphone comes with a 6.3-inch AMOLED display offering a 2640 x 1216 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Its peak brightness can reach 1,800 nits, which should help improve visibility in bright outdoor conditions.
Powering the Reno 16T is MediaTek's Dimensity 8550 Super chipset. Oppo offers configurations with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage, giving the phone substantial memory and storage for a mid-range device.
Battery capacity is another major feature. The Reno 16T packs a 6,700mAh battery and supports 80W wired charging. However, the device does not include wireless charging.
The phone also comes with several connectivity and durability features, including 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, NFC and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It carries IP68 and IP69K protection against dust and water.
In China, the Oppo Reno 16T starts at CNY 3,699 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version. The higher-end 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model is priced at CNY 4,499. The smartphone is available in purple, black and Heartbeat color options.
Oppo has not yet announced global availability for the Reno 16T in the report. For now, the smartphone is available through Oppo's online store in China.
With its high-resolution camera system, large battery, fast charging and 120Hz AMOLED display, the Reno 16T gives Oppo another strong entry in the competitive mid-range smartphone market.
